Hi writer friends,
It’s getting harder and harder to come up with new ways to say “What a week,” and “I hope you’re doing OK.” So, wow…what a week. And I hope you’re doing OK.
Sharing good news in the midst of a national crisis feels kinda weird. But considering we’re ALWAYS IN THE MIDST OF CRISIS, what the hell? On Sunday, after many months of reporting, writing, revising, fact-checking, revising, editing, and revising again, that story I keep telling you about, the one I moved to the coast to write, finally went live over at Fenix. And I’m pretty excited to see it out in the world.
Mariana Heredia, the Founder and Editor of Fenix, asked me some questions about the reporting process and what it was like to move to a new place to write a story. You can read my answers here. (And psssst: Mariana is open for pitches. She is truly the most supportive editor I’ve ever worked for…. go pitch her!)
Now, despite the slow and sudden crises of democracy, there are lots of writing opportunities to share this week. Let’s get to it.
But first, here is a picture of Jackson because pet pics make everything better:
