Hello, writer friend!
Welcome to the The Big List of Deadlines for Writers, 2022.
If you’re anything like me, chances are you’ve discovered many cool writing opportunities—like grants, fellowships, and contests—a day or two before the deadline. Or worse yet, after. It’s such a bummer when you find that perfect opportunity to further your skills or fund your next project, and you’re just a little too late.
In realizing the value of these many opportunities and the very scattered nature of the information, I decided to make the thing I really needed—one big list with all the writing-related deadlines in one place, including fellowships, grants, residencies, contests, and events.
So here it is, in its second edition: The Big List of Deadlines for Writers, 2022.
This resource is public and free, but if you’d like to support the work that goes into keeping it updated, consider becoming a paid subscriber! You’ll receive weekly writing opportunities, like pitch calls and reminders about all of these deadlines, along with Q&As, essays on writing, and lots more.
If you just stumbled upon this list from somewhere else—hello! This is a newsletter for freelance writers! You’re likely viewing the free version, which includes access to the next month of deadlines. If you’d like access to the whole thing, so you have plenty of time to work on your applications or book travel, then you might consider upgrading.
A subscription to OMQ includes weekly reminders about these deadlines, along with pitch calls, essays about writing, Q&As with writers and editors, and lots more.
